Visits and Visitors

As part of National Film Week we were lucky enough to attend a screening of 'Penguins of Madagascar' at Cineworld in Bradford. We had an incredible experience representing our school when we were at the cinema. We found the trip very rewarding, both socially and academically as were were able to write an extensive piece of descriptive writing detailing the day's activities.

Our part of our PHSE project 'Linking Schools' we were able to share a collaborative social experience at Nell Bank Farm and Activity Centre with a local school. We explored the plants and their habitats through close inspection of the natural environment on scavenger hunts, hiking and exploring the woodlands. We were able to meet new people and share our experiences of school life as we reflected on the similarities and differences between our cultures, religions, academic work, identities and ideas about the world. We were able to experience the natural environment with our new friends and share stories; it was a spiritual, social and emotional journey to remember. We were able to write an extensive piece of descriptive writing about our experiences as well as composing and exchanging postcards as well as multimedia presentations to establish a mutually respectful dialogue between our school and our neighbours.
