Help with homework

Your support is valuable in extending your child's learning. We would be grateful if you could spend a small amount of time each day to help them with their set homework or reading with them. 10-15 minutes every day is enough for Reception children and is better than one long session per week.

The homework we give supports the learning we are currently doing in class. We try to make it quite practical so that it is enjoyable for the children and provides an opportunity for you to talk about what they are doing at school.

Each Wednesday we will send home a 'learn at home' book which will contain numeracy and literacy activities and other activities based on our current topic. We will collect these books in on Monday.

We follow the Read, Write Inc phonics programme in school and we will send the letter sounds and words that they are currently learning within the weekly homework. Please encourage your child to say the letter sound and form the letter correctly when writing.

Please make sure you check your child's book bag daily to see if they have any homework.
